Our meals are cooked on the premises by our resident chef and our menus offer a variety of different meals. Ashton Lodge Care Home provides Residential, Nursing, and Dementia care. – the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve. Our laundry/domestic staff are responsible for the day to day cleaning of resident’s clothes and to ensure that their accommodation and the communal areas are kept clean and tidy. An NHS assessment may be available for you if you have a specific requirement e.g. diabetes.
The home has various different places to relax in such as communal and quiet lounges, as well as a pub and hair salon. Our large, enclosed garden offers relaxation during the warmer weather and raised planters enable residents to be involved in planting and garden projects. Medical care from a qualified nurse, and treatment for residents with illness or injuries. For more details - staff are happy to answer any of your questions about care. A weekly programme of activities is displayed throughout the care home. This programme has been devised after close discussions with people living in the home. If you have any suggestions or would like to get involved in both group or individual activities, please do not hesitate to speak to them.
We will also be regularly inspected by the Community Pharmacist, Fire Service, Environmental Health Officers, Health & Safety Executives, Placement Officers and Care Managers. Regular audits are undertaken by company personnel to monitor standards of care, appropriate record keeping and the facilities. It is our intention to seek the views of people living in the home, their relatives and other stakeholders. The manager will hold regular relative meetings and the activity co-ordinator will hold regular meetings with people living in the home.

As part of the admission process they will discuss with the person involved and their next of kin, the plan of care. This will ensure that the care received has been agreed by all parties. Any changes to this agreed plan of care, will be discussed with the person themselves and next of kin.

Ashton Medical Lodge’s Rapid Recovery Rehab Program is individually designed to help each guest return home with the highest level of independence. We provide a combination of expert clinical skills, a compassionate staff, and a comprehensive approach to therapy utilizing the latest treatment methods. Although all members of staff have a role within the care centre, we place a very strong emphasis on teamwork. Our team of qualified nurses will be led by the assistant manager.
If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service. Our infection prevention and control inspections look at how well people using a service are kept safe from the spread of infections. Our residents choose how they spend their day and this extends to when to bathe, when and where meals are taken, and whether they wish to participate in the planned activities within the home.

Our bedrooms are designed to give privacy and independence, all bedrooms have ensuite shower facilities and residents are encouraged to bring personal possessions to personalise their rooms. We welcome visits from friends and family and the home operates an open-door visiting policy. Ashton Lodge practices person centred care for older people, encouraging residents to feel they are still in control of their own lives. As well as catering for the elderly frail, Ashton Lodge also has a specialist unit for residents with memory loss conditions. – there are some services which we can’t rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider.
Fire instructions are placed at each alarm system panel and by the lifts. We would ask that all visitors make themselves familiar with them. We would also ask that ALL visitors complete the Visitors Book on arrival and departure, so that staff are aware at all times of who is in the building in the event of a fire. Our dedicated Activity Co-ordinators provide a programme of meaningful activities which include regular outings, live entertainment, bingo, pet therapy and much more. Residents are encouraged to maintain hobbies and interests and also try new experiences.
FAQ– the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service. Under the supervision of our nursing staff, residents also benefit from specialists offering their services such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, dental and optical care. The home benefits from an excellent reputation within the community, local regulatory teams and CQC for providing care with warmth, dignity and compassion in a relaxed and friendly environment. Ashdown Lodge is a caring residential home for the elderly in the village of Rustington. The home is set on a quiet street within easy reach of the town centre.
